SIX WHITE BOOMERS

As you know here in Australia, there are some parts that Santa can't use his reindeers.  It is just so hot!

So he leaves them at Rushgardie Homestead out on the central western plains.  There they can stay in some nice stables, whilst Santa hooks up his six white boomers.  Boomers are big man kangaroos.

These are really big kangaroos.  This year the ones pulling Santa's sleigh are called Mulga, Wilga, Frank, Beautiful(yeah I know, talk to my mum!), Itchy and General.

Now they too can fly, but the heat doesn't bother them.  Some of them have practising big leaps all year, so Santa can get around Australia very fast.  There are sometimes hundreds of miles out here between towns and children's houses.

Gday mate, I'm MulgaGday mate, I'm WilgaGday mate, I'm FrankGday mate, I'm Beautiful, my mum wanted a girl!Gday mate, I'm ItchyGday mate, I'm General. Yep, 123456, we are all here!

SIX WHITE BOOMERS.

By Rolf Harris and John D. Brown.

Introduction: In Australia, Christmas comes in the middle of a very hot summer. So when Santa Claus delivers his presents, he isn't taken around by reindeers because they can't stand the terrible heat. He is taken around by six big white old man kangaroos, called The Six White Boomers.

JoeyEarly on one Christmas Day, a Joey Kangaroo,
Was far from home and lost in a great big zoo.
Mummy, where's my mummy, they've taken her away,
Clip, clop, clip, clop, clip, clop
We'll help you find your mummy son, hop up on the sleigh

So up beside the bag of toys, little Joey hopped                                      Unharnessing the reindeer
But they hadn't gone far when Santa stopped.
Un-harnessed all the reindeer and Joey wondered why,
Then he heard a far off booming in the sky.

Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom

Cmon everyone, Santa needs us

Chorus:
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
.. On his Aus-tra-lian run.

Pretty soon old Santa began to feel the heat,
Took his fur-lined boots off to cool his feet.
Into one popped Joey, feeling quite OK,
While those old man kangaroos kept pulling on the sleigh.

Chorus:
Hey, Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
.. On his Aus-tra-lian run.

Then Joey said to Santa, Santa, what about the toys,
Aren't you giving some to these girls and boys.
Well they've all had their presents sonny, we were here last night,
This trip is an extra trip, Joey's special flight.

Chorus:
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
.. On his Aus-tra-lian run.

Soon the sleigh was flashing past, right over Marble Bar,
Slow down there, cried Santa, it can't be far.
Mummy, MummyHop up on my lap here son, and have a look around,
There she is, that's mummy, bounding up and down.

Chorus:
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
.. On his Aus-tra-lian run.

Well that's the bestest Christmas treat that Joey ever had,
Curled up in mother's pouch  feeling  snug and glad.
The last they saw was Santa heading northwards from the sun,
The only year the boomers worked a double run.

Chorus:
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.
Six white boomers, snow white boomers,
.. On his Aus-tra-lian run.                                            We love Australia

Hooroo mate. Have a nice Christmas
